Virginia L. Williams
About Virginia
Virginia Williams grew up in the middle of Pennsylvania Dutch country, where the cornfields and cows outnumber the people.  When she realized, at the age of seven, that she would have to stop growing immediately in order to fulfill her dream of becoming a jockey, she spent a year mulling over her options and decided, at age eight, that she would be a writer. Thirty-odd years later, that's exactly what she's doing, along with being a wife, mom, and woman who volunteers too much.

Virginia graduated from Albright College in 1991 with a BA degree in English, then spent two years working in a physics department in a small liberal arts college, assisting in managing and writing grant proposals as well as doing administrative tasks. In 1993 she returned to school, eventually receiving her MA in English/Professional Writing and Editing from George Mason University in Virginia.

Her life took a turn when, after graduation, she obtained a temporary work visa for the UK, moved in with friends there and spent six months working and traveling. While there, she met the man she eventually married and began working as a freelance proofreader at Anness Publishing, Ltd., in London. After freelancing with Anness for two months, she was offered a full-time position.

After nearly two years in the UK, Virginia and her husband moved to Ohio with a job transfer, where she began both freelancing and raising a family.

Today, Virginia nurtures her children and career just east of Cleveland. She is currently working on her first book, a memoir on the stillbirth of her son, Ben, in 2003.
